Goodbye, Tavarua

Moce is goodbye in Fijian.

Sometimes I cry when I have to leave Tavarua. When the sun is setting like this, it makes it even harder to go.

I took these photos from the jetty on the main island of Viti Levu. In the background, you can barely see the little island of Tavarua.

My Fijian friends Eddie, Emosi, and Russi are dropping Rusty and I off to catch our ride to the airport. What a way to leave a good three-month Tavarua stint.

It’s how Fiji says goodbye.
