Missing Surfer Body Search

North Shore lifeguards received a report of a missing surfer who was last seen in the water surfing Sunset Point. A short time later the surfer’s board was spotted floating unattended a mile outside of Rocky Point (the surf spot next to Sunset Point).

The Coast Guard and lifeguards actively searched for three days using helicopters, Jet Skis, rescue divers, boats, and beach spotters.

I met with lifeguards and helped out in the search for a while, diving and paddling around the area the victim was last seen. Some other members of the community also participated.

The search was called off yesterday without any luck.
