After my Windansea lifeguard shift ended the other evening, I drove down to Scripps Pier in hopes of catching a brief ray of light through the thunderheads. The rain had fallen through dark grey skies for much of the day, so I had little expectations of capturing an image. In fact I was very close to just staying home, but at the last minute decided I should get my ass down there to check it out.
Lucky for me the decision to go was a good one. The sun showed itself for 10 glorious minutes, which was just enough time for me to run down the beach, set up my tripod, figure out some good slow-shutter camera settings, and take a handful of photos.
If you don’t go, you’ll never know.
