Puerto Escondido – First Day Back

Two days ago I tracked a good sized swell heading toward Mexico and figured I’d better get down there before I get locked into a full-time summer lifeguarding schedule.

Yesterday I walked across the border to Tijuana, took a taxi to the airport, flew to Mexico City, connected a second flight to a small town in Oaxaca, and shared a ride to Puerto Escondido.

I used to spend quite a bit of time down here. I’d come down once or twice a year for a couple months, but it’s been three years since then. I absolutely love this place.

Here are a handful of photos I took earlier this morning with my Canon camera and SPL water-housing. It’s the first time I’ve had an opportunity to use my new camera rig in quality surf. Some of the images below are two-shot sequences stacked on top of each other. Hope you like the first batch from Puerto!

Be awesome if light and surf conditions are favorable again tomorrow, yew!
