Spring Winds

Spring isn’t the most desirable time of year to be a surfer or water photographer in San Diego. Winds are primarily strong and onshore, and swells are typically from a very steep northerly direction with short interval.

I’ve been taking advantage of my time out of the water by collaborating with my agent on the direction of my business. There is a ton of behind the scenes work that takes a considerable amount of time in order to get my images into the hands of those who need it. Working with art galleries, interior designers, and private art collectors, in conjunction with our printing crew at Chrome Digital and our custom framer at Indo Teak Design is proving to be an enjoyable juggling act.

Aside, from the fine art and interior design market, I’ve been booking some challenging freelance jobs and entering international photography competitions with some great success. I’m stoked on all the work, but found myself missing a good month or so without shooting anything personal. Yesterday, I grabbed my camera to get back in the swing of things. Even though the conditions were blown, I’m glad I shot.
